A peaceful weekend getaway

Located on the shores of Lake Naivasha, Camp Carnelley's is a beautiful place to escape the hustle and bustle of Nairobi and partake in a wide range of activities.

Many Nairobians choose Carnelly's as a relaxing weekend getaway.

Lake Naivasha

Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County, which lies north west of Nairobi. The name comes from the local Maasai name Nai'posha, meaning "rough water" because of the sudden storms which can arise. Lake Naivasha has a surface area of 139 km², [3] and is home to a variety of types of wildlife including over 400 different species of bird and a sizeable population of hippos.

Lots of things to do

What makes Naivasha so popular is the wide range of activies that can be found in it's vicinity. Go on a boat tour in lake Oleidon, discover Hell's Gate by bicycle as you weave between zebra's, buffalos and antilopes or climb the stunning Mount Longonot, a dormant vulcano. Camp Carnelley's is a great base from which to explore this beautiful stretch of the Great Rift Valley.

Whether you're just looking to chill, or want to get real active, there is something for everyone at Carnelly's. If you are passing through the Naivasha area, I highly recommend checking out this camp, even if you just stop by to try the amazing pizza's.
